It's awesome at interrupting the enemies's spell casting. If you need some more advice with Colette I'd say that while Para ball is her best arte in the GC version of Symphonia, you shouldn't underestimate Ray satellite either. She also has one where she will always successfully steal from an enemy if she hits with Item Thief/Rover. I don't remember the combos off the top of my head, but it's easy to get Life Thief and Spirit Thief at the same time, which will give her HP and TP for every combo she does. Raine's magic is better and they and Genis will delay each other if they're casting at the same time. I basically never use her angel skills except for the Gospel U. Just remember that several of her techs have a little delay at the start so you'll either need distance from the enemy or para ball hitstunning them to continue the combo safely. Para Ball is THAT good that you'll pretty much always want to use it. If you want to link a level 1 -> 2 -> 3 tech string, Ray Thrust is your only option since Pow Hammer can't link to Para Ball. Whirlwind Rush is also a good combo ender. If there's enemies around, I will link into Ring Cyclone or Triple Ray Thrust instead for crowd control. If the enemy doesn't guard Para Ball I will usually go into Grand Chariot or Triple Ray Satellite. I usually use the upward attack, then Para Ball followed by one of her level 3 techs. I'm sure you know this, but her forward and down attack strings have her use a projectile, which is cool but situational since she has to spin around before throwing her chakram. I usually use her upward attack because it's faster to start combos. I personally find Colette's regular attack string to be slow and awkward. With Elemental Guard/Circlet, Star Bracelet, and/or Persian Boots she can nullify or absorb several elements. I think Colette's luck stat is involved as well? Even without Toss Hammer, Pow Hammer is a really good move with a high damage multiplier.Ĭolette also has great endgame equipment options. The toss hammer chance gets higher the more Colette has used Pow Hammer. Since poison damage is a percentage of max HP, it can destroy bosses in under a minute. Pow Hammer has a chance to become Toss Hammer when used, which will poison an enemy if it hits and works on bosses. I use TRT to farm kills for the devil's arms because often you can instantly kill 3-4 weak enemies at once with it from far away. Triple Ray Thrust is amazing for crowd control. Hammer Rain will do insane damage on large enemies if you can pull it off (really good for the dragon knight battle in the coliseum). Para ball is too good to pass up for the T side of her tech tree, but if you're not opposed to the tech glitch there's a couple of techs that are great. Torrential Para Ball for some reason doesn't do as much damage as Para Ball but it can be good for combos plus the stun the lightning can inflict. Para Ball and Grand Chariot have amazing damage multipliers. Most people write her off, but Colette is seriously one of the most powerful characters in ToS.
